Antonio Gismondi ‘Crucella’

About the winemaker:

Anabel and Antonio Gismondi are based in the Benevento mountains, north-east of Naples, in southern Italy. Antonio's family has been working the land of Cerreto Santa for generations, cultivating autochthonous grape varieties. Since 2019, the grapes that wet previously sold to the cooperative winery have been vilified by the couple, for an exhilarating result of southern aromas and mountain freshness.

The grapes come from vines planted at 350 metres altitude over rocky limestone and clay soils and are co-fermented in fibreglass, given a 9-day carbonic maceration before being pressed off to steel tanks to rest until being bottled in the spring with no additions.
